Helen Blackwell Age 4 In Iceland

I always wanted to visit Iceland so decided since we were visiting UK in 2010 to take Helen with her mum and her elder half sister there for a short visit. Helen still remembered trip even at time of writing 8 years later and I believe will never forget swimming in famous Blue Lagoon. She also remembers it never getting dark and at midnight it being as light as at midday. She loved huge waterfalls and scrambling over half frozen terrain.

Her older half sister Katherine at that time did not have any children and she says it was probably best short holiday shed ever had. On arriving at Reykjavik the capital of Iceland we were met by our host who wed rented a small apartment and car from. The apartment was in a slightly run down part of the city but was very convenient with a supermarket close bye. We only spent 4 days in Iceland and visited blue lagoon twice.

The Blue lagoon is a lake and is rated as one of top 25 wonders of the world. It was created by waste water from the geothermal power plant which was bui9lt to produce clean green energy in 1970s. The water is totally clean and contains no chemicals. Its been a Spa for many years and is rich with minerals which give it its color. The water renews itself from power plant every 48 hours so it keeps really clean and healthy.

Helens lucky to have gone when she did since these days it has become so popular you sometimes have to book weeks in advance in high seasons. While the Blue Lagoon was definitely highlight of the trip and were sure she will remember her visit as long as she lives Iceland contained a large number of other special attractions such as its Geysers and amazing waterfalls. Certainly one of most exotic places Helen has been lucky to have visited.
